Real-time measurement every minute
Ecosystem Bioaerosol Monitoring
Bioaerosols play a crucial role in the Earth system. In particular, in interactions between the atmosphere, biosphere, climate and public health. Primary biological aerosol particles are unavoidable for the reproduction and spread of organisms in various ecosystems and can cause diseases in humans, animals and plants.
Our main topics:
Challenges of bioaerosol monitoring
The current measuring instruments for bioaerosols available in Europe are either manual measuring methods with high laboratory effort or automated measurements with low informative value about the type, origin and properties of primary biological aerosol particles. For an operational monitoring of e.g. pollen, spores or bacteria, manual measuring methods provide a low temporal resolution and automatic measuring instruments provide too little information about the measured particle. This results in incomplete and time-delayed information about the bioaerosols in our environment.
Manual measurement method
Automated real-time measurement
Automated real-time measurement of bioaerosols
The new generation of automated real-time measuring instruments now provide data every hour or even every minute without complex secondary processes. However, they also bring new requirements in the operation that need to be taken into account.
he solution for operational use is therefore not a single measurement system that can measure bioaerosol particles, but a combination of components for reliable real-time monitoring of bioaerosols.
